I mean, if you went it, spent your monies on oil and filters and they handed it to you...what would your reaction be? I think I would take it home and add it to my collection of hats (Im up to 4!) and never once put it on my head.

Even I, who once saved Wheaties boxtops for a little John Elway football, would say no - mostly because of the mail-in-rebate thing. If they were just handing out the hat, I’d say sure and maybe wear it twice.

I would decline it on the mail - in rebate alone, which probably means you ’ re out $10 while you wait for a check that ’ s too small to waste your time taking to the bank, but won ’ t work with your bank ’ s iPhone app because a lot of security features don ’ t photograph well, so then you have to go stand in line at that big red & yellow bank that will open 5 credit cards in your name as soon as you leave. So not worth it.

If they gave it to me in the store, and it wasn’t a mail-in rebait thing, yes I’d ware it for heavy outdoor choors like mowing the lawn or chopping wood.

Not a matter of being too cool for hats. I’ve got the grey stocking cap that I just took off hanging behind me as I type this. I just don’t care for baseball caps. That one in particular.

I have a bunch of Big Kmart clothing, including hats and shirts that I wear when I’m feeling trashy. It’s from back in the day of Newman-Hass Indy Car team so it’s Kmart logo’s on DKNY polo’s.

I used to be a sucker for free stuff when I was younger, but I try to avoid things like that now.

I still have a Valvoline blanket (I think it was from a motor oil coupon) around somewhere that I never bothered to take out of its package. (Actually, now that I think of it, I should go find it. I could use another throw blanket.)

Oh heck yes. I’ve got this NAPA one from a similar promo that I wear fairly often. Mostly to barbecues where I know I’ll be around fires to keep my other hats from smelling like smoke. I had another freebie hat in my shed that used to fill that duty but is now the yard work hat covered in dirt, sweat, and tree sap.
